Elma has recently begun joining forces with other Shetland experts to offer an even wider range of guided tours that give you a unique insight and experience of Shetland life in times gone by as well as the present.
Local historian, columnist and acknowledged expert, Douglas Sinclair, will accompany you around the Lanes of Lerwick. Stories of smugglers and press gangs are given the 'X-factor' as he can take to the very cellars beneath the town, through the lanes and lodberries where smugglers used to ply their trade two centuries ago.
You are never more than three miles from the shoreline at any point in Shetland, so it's no surprise that many of the best stories come from the sea. It plays a central role in the lives of the islanders, situated, as they are at the cross-roads of the North Sea equidistant between Norway and Scotland. The 'Hana Daga' trail sees Elma joining forces with Cycharters Ltd., John Tulloch operates his four-star tour company on the west coast of the island. He and Elma will take you places you could never access without specialist knowledge.
